Ad Code

Can I use my Clicksor.com code on more than one Website?

Ad code may only be implemented on approved websites. You may submit more than one website under the registered Publisher Account.

How do I obtain the ad code?

After you have submitted your website for review, the ad code for pop-under, inline text link, text or graphical banner can be obtained from the Ad Setup section with customization available.

Where should I place the code on my site?

The ad code may be obtained from the Ad Setup section. You may copy and paste the ad code within the body tags of the html code.

Can I place more than one ad code per page?

We suggest publishers to place only one ad banner at the most noticeable place of the webpage for the best result. Approved website may have up to three sets of ad code on a page.

By changing the keywords for my account, does it bring me more relevant ads?

The keywords that you have submitted when you registered your site are for reference only. The ads are delivered to your site based on the content of your site. Our system automatically scans the site and search for the more relevant ads to be displayed at your site, changing your keyword is not necessary.

Can I add the ad code to MSN Spaces or Xanga?

Clicksor ad codes cannot be added to MSN Spaces or Xango. MSN Space and Xanga cannot support the ad codes from Clicksor at this moment. No free hosting domain is accepted by Clicksor.

Can I disable the text link ads option?

Publishers can manually disable the text links by changing the line of ad code'clicksor_enable_text_link = true' to'clicksor_enable_text_link = false'

Please also contact our publisher representative to have the inline text link option removed from your site.

Can I edit the ad code?

Publishers may not edit the ad code; ad code obtained must be directly pasted onto the website.

Can I put the ad code in Server Side Includes (SSI) code on my site?

Yes, the ad code can be placed in SSI code on your submitted site.

Clicksor ad is slowing down my site loading time, what can I do?

Clicksor suggests publishers may try to load the ad code in an iFrame. This can allow the ad code to be loaded separately from the site and other contents, does not affect your page loading speed.

How can I request for approval to use Clicksor XML feeds on my site?

If publishers will like to use Clicksor CML feed on the website, requesters have to complete a form to consider them for approval. Please contact Clicksor Publisher Representatives or go to your account at Clicksor.com, and go to'Search Ads' under'Get Code' where publishers can choose XML feed and obtain the form there. When the form is completed, please send it to the email indicated (xml@clicksor.com).

How many ad units can I place on a page?

Publishers are not permitted to place more than 3 Clicksor ad units or 2 Search boxes on a page. Clicksor suggests our publishers to place one ad unit at the most noticeable location of the page to get the most effective result.

I am showing pop-under ads on my site, however, occasionally, it appears blank. Is there a way to avoid showing blank pop-under?

Please add a pop-under house ad URL during your Get Code process. Your default house ad will be shown when no Clicksor ad is available for your site.

I have set the pop-under frequency cap, but it does not seem to be working properly, why is that?

Please check the browser you are using. If you are using browser other than IE, the pop-under frequency cap may not function properly.

I run a hosting site; do I have to submit them all the URLs?

Clicksor does not require hosting sites to present the entire URL collection for submission. On the other hand, Clicksor Publisher Representatives require our publisher to provide 5 samples from the domain.

My site mainly consists of pictures and has very little text content. Can I edit the keywords for my account to target relevant ads?

You can get to choose up to 5 keywords/ keyword phrases manually for the ad banners and text links by adding this line into your current ad codes:

  • clicksor_search = ["keyword1", "keyword2", "keyword3", "keyword4", "keyword5"];

Once the'clicksor_search' line is added, the system will deliver ads based on these keyword(s). Please note that this edit tool is only available for the banners and text links only (not pop-under), and it only reads the first 5 keywords there

There are very few ads shown on my site, instead, the Clicksor house ad is being display most of the time. Why is that?

Sometimes the Clicksor house ad appears because the system cannot find relevant ads for your site. This is due to limited textual content on the site as Clicksor's system is contextual-based and needs to scan your page for keywords to find the most relevant ads. Please try to enhance the content of the website in order to have Clicksor's system target the most relevant ads for website.

Users from countries other than US, UK and CA often see the Clicksor house ad rather than commercial ads on my site, why is that?

Also, since our ads are targeted at US, UK, and CA, international users may not see commercial ads as often. Please check your reports to see whether stats are being recorded. If the impressions and clicks are being recorded, that means users of your site are seeing commercial ads and not only the Clicksor house ads.

When I try to obtain my ad code, why do I get the message: Your site is not allowed to get code

When your site is in pending status, you may not obtain the ad code as yet. Please wait 1-3 business days for your site to be reviewed. Once your site is approved, you will receive an email to notify you to obtain the ad code.

Why is there no ad showing on my site after I have added the ad code?

Please check the type of browser you are using. If you are using IE, the ads should always display properly. Otherwise, please contact our publisher representative for further support.
